Beyond The Bench

BEYOND THE BENCH

A program of The Net Work Youth Initiative

About the Program

Talent should never be limited by financial circumstances, and every child deserves the opportunity to experience the power of sports.

Beyond the Bench is a community-driven initiative launched by The Net Work Youth Initiative to remove financial barriers that prevent at-risk and underserved youth from participating in organized sports.

Our mission is simple: Get kids off the sidelines and into the game.

Through the collection of new and gently used sports equipment, Beyond the Bench provides children of all ages with access to the gear they need to participate in the sports they love. From basketball and football to baseball, soccer, wrestling, and beyond, we accept equipment from all sports to help ensure that no child is left behind because of financial hardship. But our vision goes beyond equipment. We also collect monetary donations with the goal of establishing financial assistance for registration fees, helping families who cannot afford the cost of enrolling their children in recreational leagues, school athletics, and organized sports programs.

Why Beyond the Bench Matters

We believe sports are more than just games. They are opportunities to build character, develop discipline, establish friendships, strengthen confidence, and connect young people with positive mentors and role models.

For many at-risk youth, participation in sports can provide structure, belonging, and a positive alternative to negative influences in their communities.

No child should have to watch from the bench simply because their family cannot afford the cost of playing.
